The Traffic Lights – Our next chapter in keeping Aotearoa New Zealand Safe :
Vaccination is the best form of protection against COVID-19. If you find anyone, not vaccinated, please encourage them to do so.

Even if you are vaccinated, you can still catch and pass on the virus., but you are likely to only have mild to moderate symptoms. Basic hygiene is important. Keep surface clean, cough and sneeze into your elbows, and wash and sanitise your hands often.

With an objective to promote Nepalese Culture and establish a strong link with all ethnic communities in New Zealand, the NCCNZI has decided to organize multiethnic dance festival in an annual basis. This will not only help to understand each other, but also, help to spread Nepalese culture in New Zealand. As all we know, New Zealand is a most ethnically diverse country in the World. The food stalls from China, Chile, Thailand and Nepal attracted many. Altogether nineteen countries including Bangladesh, Chile, China, Colombia, Cook Islands, India, Korea, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Samoa, Sri Lanka, Tahiti, Thailand, United Kingdom and Vietnam took part in the 5th MultiEthnic Dance Festival 2020 Festival.

Because of some unavoidable circumstances, Tanzania and Myanmar had withdrawn at the last moment. Their performances were outstanding and able to
exhibit their rich cultures. It is therefore important to maintain its ethnic diversity by launching several related programs, like multi-cultural festivals, conferences, seminars and others. With responses received from last five festivals, we were encouraged to organize the festival in wider scale. Therefore, we have chosen Victory Convention Centre at Auckland to accommodate more people. With the participation of 29 ethnic communities from nineteen countries of origin in the last year, the festival succeeded in attracting about fifteen hundred audiences. We acknowledge all ethnic communities, who supported us to successfully run the festival.

The 6th Multi Ethnic Dance Festival 2021 on Saturday, 25th September 2021 will include more than 30 ethnic Communities from 24 Countries of origin. The NCCNZI will make effort to improve the festival by requesting all ethnic communities to provide quality groups and also other information about the dance.

The NCCNZI would like to thank to all ethnic communities in Auckland and outside for their assistance to organize the festival. Without their support we would not had achieved it. Slowly and slowly this activity should be transferred to other ethnic group for continuation. Therefore, we should encourage all ethnic
communities to join hand with us for further improvements and gaining ideas to run the event.

From this year, we are also publishing a magazine. The contents of “The Culture New Zealand” will be the articles about culture from ethnic communities in New
Zealand. The publication will help to bring closer ethnic communities by understanding each other’s culture.
